I love our mission, and I love sharing it with others! That’s what happened at our 7th annual fashion show, luncheon, and auction – Fashion Finds with a Flair – at FOUR POINTS by Sheraton Pittsburgh North today. The volunteers amassed fabulous auction baskets and silent auction items, the luncheon was delicious (especially the yummy chocolate mousse dessert!), and the fashions – wow! – who could believe that this is RESALE!

In addition to showcasing the merchandise available at Treasure House Fashions, several models shared their connection to this “treasured” resource to women in the North Hills. Ramona shared how Treasure House provided clothing for her and her daughter while she was at HEARTH, Sue explained that she was introduced to Treasure House through New Choices, Linda found Treasure House when planning a fashion show for her Class Act Program at Western Psych - various agencies networking together to provide for women experiencing times of transition and/or crisis.
But in addition to being a storehouse for women in need, Treasure House Fashions is committed to affirming the treasure in EVERY woman – and that’s what our model Barbara shared. She came to our shop when her precious sister Linda died.
Treasure House offered a place for her sister’s clothing to be a blessing to others. Through that heart connection (and her love of clothes), Barbara became a regular shopper and donor. This past fall she purchased a fur coat for her mother (also a model at our fashion show). Her mom had always made her children’s clothing, so such a luxury was never a consideration. The coat was a daughter’s loving expression of admiration and appreciation, and her mom’s beaming smile confirmed that it is a deep joy! At Treasure House Fashions our vision is “affirming the treasure in you” regardless of your age or stage in life.
Oh, and one more thing to share – we had a “guest model” – my fiance showed up unexpectedly with a dozen roses!! He’s a delightful “benefit” to the whole Treasure House Fashions journey….but that’s another blog!!
